Lawmaker tasks Nigerian govt on diversification of power source
The Nigerian government has been urged to diversify the country’s sources of power generation to address the incessant power outages in the country.
This was the resolution of a motion under matters of urgent National Importance sponsored by the Chief Whip of the House of Reps, Tahir Munguno, at plenary.
The lawmaker explained that adequate power supply remains the backbone of every nation’s socio-economic development.
Mr Monguno described the incessant power outages in the country despite the increase in electricity tariff as a national embarrassment to Nigeria.
Adopting the motion, urged the Executive Arm of Government, to upgrade the nation’s power transmission by seeking sources of power generation such as coal, wind and Solar. (RadioNigeria)
