Discounted foodstuff: Quickteller Paypoint partners Ogun to provide digital payment platform

This collaboration aims to facilitate digital payment collections for a new initiative that provides discounted food stuff to the state’s residents.

Through this partnership, civil servants in Ogun State will be able to securely purchase discounted food items, such as rice, using the Quickteller Paypoint platform, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving the standard of living of its workforce.

Supporting this initiative aligns with Quickteller Paypoint’s mission to provide seamless and secure digital payment solutions for Ogun State employees and Nigerians at large; while also supporting the state government in its efforts to foster sustainable development.

Speaking on the initiative, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun State, said the initiative was a testament to the state government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the workforce and providing access to essential commodities at affordable rates.

He emphasized that the state government is devoted to implementing strategic initiatives aimed at mitigating the adverse effects of the economic downturn experienced in the region.

The Governor further said that the discounted sale of rice to residents of Ogun State is just one component of a comprehensive plan designed to uplift the state’s economy and improve the livelihoods of its residents.

He commended Interswitch for providing an efficient payment infrastructure in facilitating digital payment collection.

Titilola Shogaolu, Managing Director, Interswitch Financial Inclusion Services (IFIS), while expressing her excitement for the collaboration said “This initiative highlights our steadfast dedication to harnessing digital payment solutions to empower individuals and foster significant economic growth within communities.

“We are excited to collaborate with the Ogun State Government on this impactful project, which will bring relief to workers throughout the state”.

Cherry Eromosele, Executive Vice President, Group Marketing and Corporate Communications, Interswitch Group opined that “the Quickteller Paypoint platform is poised to revolutionize payment collections in the state, streamlining processes for greater efficiency. We are committed to providing a user-friendly experience that simplifies transactions and empowers both the government and citizens alike.”

Recall that Quickteller Paypoint recently partnered with the Lagos State Government to provide digital payment collections for a similar initiative where discounted food items are sold to Lagos state residents to cushion the effect of the current economic hardship.

The collaboration between Quickteller Paypoint and the Ogun State Government represents a significant milestone in providing support for families, promoting digital payments, and advancing financial inclusion initiatives in the state.
