Iwobi’s last-gasp rocks Man. United at Old Trafford

Iwobi and Bassey celebrate their goals

Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi scored a late winner as Fulham stunned Manchester United 2-1 on Saturday at the Old Trafford Stadium.

Another Nigerian, Calvin Bassey also scored for Fulham.

After a goalless first half, Bassey opened the scoring for the visitors in the 65th minute of the match.  Bassey fired the rebound into the roof of the net after the ball broke to him in the box to make it 0-1.

Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) connected with a pass around the edge of the box, aimed and shot. His attempt went towards the right-hand post, but Bernd Leno was alert and the score remains the same.

In the 72nd minute, Bruno Fernandes connected with a pass around the edge of the box, aimed and shot. His attempt went towards the right-hand post, but Bernd Leno was alert and the score remains the same.

A minute later, the opposition backed off Marcus Rashford, who needed no second invitation to shoot from inside the box. It was a decent effort towards the roof of the net, but Bernd Leno denied him with the save.

In the 79th minute, Harry Wilson tried his luck and hit a thunderbolt of a shot towards goal from long range, but his powerful strike went narrowly wide of the left post.

United equalised in the 89th minute through Harry Maguire, who slotted the ball into an unguarded net from close range after a shot rebounds off a defender to make it 1-1.

Seven minutes into added time, Fulham stunned United again for their second goal scored by Iwobi.

Adama Traore found himself with the ball at his feet in space after a lightning counter attack. He looked and up-slide the ball to Iwobi, who coolly slotted the ball past the keeper from close in.
