FCCPC urges DisCos to respect consumers’ rights
The Federal Commission for Competition and Consumer Protection (FCCPC) has called on the Distribution Companies (DisCos) to respect the rights of electricity consumers.
The Commission also urged companies to be mindful of their commitments to customers in this period of severe electricity shortages and customer dissatisfaction.
The Commission on its official Twitter account @fccpcnigeria showed some copies of consumer rights under @NERCNG’s meter asset providers and service-based tariff frameworks.
It says “Customers will be billed according to the hours of electricity supply (approved band rating).
“You have the right to challenge the tariff band classification that has been assigned to you.
“The payment of meters will not be made if there are no meters available.
“The Meter Asset Provider (MAP) will install the meter at the customer’s premises within 10 business days of payment.” (NAN)
