Naira swap: Engage more money agents, Osinbajo advises banks

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo expressed his satisfaction with the state-of-the-art facilities of DLK Clothing Signature Limited, Lugbe, Abuja.

Osinbajo, who toured the MSMEs in Abuja on Tuesday, was also delighted with the large number of people employed by the company.

DLK Signature is a manufacturer of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Uniforms, Stylish Clothing, Boots, Converse, Office & School Shoes, Bags, Women’s Slippers, Men’s Palm Trees, duvets, among others.

The vice president spoke to reporters after inspecting the manufacturing processes and stages of the business.

“First of all, we are here in the DLK manufacturing company; they manufacture, as we have seen, shoes, boots, special uniforms for the NYSC, for the armed forces and they also manufacture bags and masks; even face masks.

“It’s a pretty impressive facility because, first of all, there is a wide range of products that are made here.

“And secondly, there are a good number of men and women who are employed and third and most importantly, the equipment is state of the art.

“We looked around and heard that you can do pretty much anything here; boots for the armed forces and in fact they already have something that they do for the armed forces, customs, the NYSC and all that stuff.

Osinbajo said it was commendable to see that there was so much manufacturing in Abuja with so many people employed with impressive innovation and creativity.

The vice president said he, alongside the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, looked around and saw the potential and what had already been done.

“And as you know, these are MSMEs; here and there we look at featured MSMEs, and see what they are doing and how we can support them.

“So we are looking forward to working with them,” he said.

For his part, Lovelyn Mbanefo, CEO of DLK, who took the vice presidency around the manufacturing stages, said the company was created to tap local potential.

She said DLK was also aimed at curbing the importation of goods that could be produced in Nigeria.

Osinbajo, thereafter, visited the RovingHeights Bookstore, Wuse 2, Abuja, where he inspected the books on display and made some purchases. (NAN)
