PTAD begins consecutive pension payment
The Directorate of the Transitional Pensions Regime (PTAD) declares that it has started the payment of the subsequent adjustment to retirees under the defined benefit plan (DBS).
PTAD corporate communications officer Gbenga Ajayi said in a statement issued on behalf of PTAD executive secretary Dr Chioma Ejikeme in Abuja on Wednesday.
He said the payment was in line with the promise she made following the announcement of President Muhammadu Buhari‘s approval to implement the consequential adjustment to pension benefits brought on by the new pension. 2019 minimum wage increase.
Ajayi said Ejikeme had promised that the upward adjustment in pension benefits would take effect from May 2021.
He said that in responding to messages of gratitude received from some retirees, the Executive Secretary assured them of PTAD’s commitment to the welfare of DBS retirees.
Ejikeme, however, warned them of scammers who called retirees posing as PTAD staff, saying no executive staff would ask for a bonus before processing their pension payment.
She urged retirees to report these phone calls and other activities of the crooks to PTAD for proper investigation and possible prosecution.
The News of Nigeria (NAN) reports that, therefore, retirees under the Civil Service Pensions Department (CSPD), Parastatal Pensions Department (PaPD)Police Pensions Department (PPD) and Customs, Immigration and Prison Pensions (CIPPD), began to receive their arrears.
The four departments represent the operational departments of the PTAD.
