I am not sick: Ronke Oshodi-Oke reveals inspiring weight-loss journey

Actress Ronke Oshodi Oke has opened up about her inspiring weight-loss journey, driven by her medical doctor’s counsel.

She also debunked rumours of any illness, declaring that she is ‘healthy and vibrant’

In an interview with talk show host Chude Jideonwo, Ronke, whose real name is Ibironke Ojo-Anthony, shared details of her health-driven endeavour, shedding light on the pivotal role her doctor played in her decision.

The 49 year-old actress, widely known for her captivating performances on the silver screen, disclosed that her weight had reached 110 kilograms at one point.

However, it was her doctor, a UK-based practitioner, who urged her to make a substantial change.

Ronke initially resisted her doctor’s advice she reduce her weight to around 75 kilograms.

“I went to the UK sometime ago, and I have a doctor there. The doctor told me to lose weight. I was 110 kilograms then, and he insisted that shedding weight was crucial,” Ronke said.

“At first, I was taken aback by the suggestion, but later, health concerns like high blood pressure prompted me to take his advice earnestly.”

Recounting her journey, Ronke revealed that she ventured into the realm of weight loss by embracing a “Speedy Weightloss” product under her doctor’s supervision.

As the journey progressed, she eventually transitioned to using the “Fat Surrender” product, which she attested had a positive impact on her transformation.

However, the actress was swift to caution on the careful use of such products, emphasising the potential health risks if not used judiciously.

Elaborating on her experience, the Nollywood icon iterated, “I was too thin at one point due to the ‘Speedy Weightloss’ product.

Around that time, my weight had decreased to about 82 kilograms from 110. Subsequently, I opted for the ‘Fat Surrender’ product, which is what I use now.

“Presently, my weight hovers between 86 and 87 kilograms.”

However, Ronke was resolute in advocating for a cautious approach when utilising weight loss aids.

“It’s not a scam, but proper usage is key. Overuse can potentially impact the liver adversely. I always stress the importance of eating properly and maintaining a balanced diet while incorporating these products.”

The actress, whose recent photos showcasing a noticeably slimmer figure had sparked speculation, clarified her motivations.

Addressing concerns about her well-being, she firmly stated, “I embarked on this weight loss journey for specific health reasons. I am indeed healthy and vibrant.”
