The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversion as it shuts part of Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway for repair.

A statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Engr. Abdulhafiz Toriola on Wednesday, said the closure would be from Friday, 4th August, 2023.

The portion of the road affected is between Kataguwa/Ilepo axis.

The government said the move was part of efforts to address the perennial flooding challenge at Ilepo bus stop in Alimosho Local Government.

Consequently, the government said  traffic from Iyana Ipaja towards Abule-Egba would be diverted to the BRT Lane from Iyana Ipaja.

The statement added that traffic from Iyana Ipaja towards Abule Egba and traffic from Abule-Egba inward Iyana Ipaja would be diverted to service lanes.

The government said traffic from Abule-Egba towards Iyana Ipaja would be diverted to the BRT lane from Abule-Egba.

“Motorists are implored to be patient as the lane closure is part of the traffic management plan for the construction of drains across Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway,” the statement said.
