Many people were presumed dead after a tanker explosion in Ore, Odigbo Local Council, Ondo State.

The explosion occurred while some inhabitants of the region were scooping fuel, believed to be petrol, from an overturned truck.

It is believed that the explosion was caused by a spark from a phone held by one of the people scooping petrol spilt from a tanker.

Sources say a pregnant, 3 children and many others have lost their lives in the inferno.

“Three children died, and we have counted over 15 bodies. A pregnant woman that wanted to buy the fuel also died. The money is still with her.”

Ezekiel SonAllah, the FRSC sector commander, confirmed the incident and promised to provide details later.
