I resigned as UNIZIK lecturer to serve my constituency -LP Reps candidate

Prof. Oby Orogbu, House of Representatives candidate of Labour Party (LP), for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, has promised to bring rapid development to the area through effective legislative intervention.

Orogbu made the promise while addressing party stakeholders and supporters in Amawbia on Tuesday.

She said she resigned as a lecturer and Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, to vie for the political position as a result of her love and passion for her people.

“My quitting my job as a result of my desire to serve my people, to deliver dividends of good governance, to provide selfless service and leadership of inclusion.

“I promise to provide quality representation and effective legislative intervention at the green chambers and will carry out visible projects to address deplorable roads, unemployment and others.

“I will ensure that projects are attracted to my constituency. We will also empower youths and women, including activating the moribund Youths Development Center to eradicate crimes and poverty in my area.

” I’m not in politics for my stomach. I am in this race to deliver and make an unforgettable difference in governance,” she said.

Orogbu said that She is qualified and fit intellectually, morally and health-wise, not just to run campaigns, but to ensure effective supervision of projects if elected.

She urged the people of her constituency to support and vote in LP to serve and represent them better.

Earlier, Mr Goddy Aronu, President-General, Amawbia Development Union, promised that the community would support the candidate.

“We are not supporting her just because she is our daughter, we are projecting her because we believe she is competent, reliable and capable, ” he said.
