NYSC participates in CBN’s fair

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Adamawa State Secretariat has participated in a two-day Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Fair Enlightenment Campaign for Adamawa and Taraba States, North-East Nigeria.

The enlightenment campaign was held at Jimeta-Yola, Adamawa State.

The NYSC used the occasion to showcase and advertise various categories of products developed by corps members courtesy of her Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme to the other participants drawn from manufacturers, bankers, traders, farmers, cooperative societies as well as the general public.

The various SAED products stand involved Bio Gas, Agro-Allied, ICT, shoes and bags, pastries, cosmetics and so on.

Impressed by the quality of the products and ingenuity of the corps members, the stakeholders commended the NYSC scheme and appreciated the corps members by buying a good number of the products.

While inspecting the products, the CBN Branch Controller, represented by the Director of Corporate Communications Department, was marvelled at the biogas initiative and instantly developed a special interest.

He requested a proposal from the NYSC and pledged to work towards developing it further.

The NYSC team was led at the event by the Head of SAED, Mrs Jummai Wange Kwache, on behalf of the State Coordinator, along with some members of staff, SAED trainers and corps members.

Other highlights of the event were welcome remarks by the CBN Branch Controller, Yola and goodwill messages by his Jalingo counterpart as well as goodwill messages by both Adamawa and Taraba States Government.

Papers were also presented on Development Finance, eNaira, Consumer Protection, Currency Operations as well as Onboarding of Stakeholders on the eNaira platform. (VON)
