The Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) says it has disbursed more than N62.5 billion to female entrepreneurs in Nigeria as of February 2022.
Managing Director of the bank Mr Tony Okapnachi made this known in Abuja when the bank celebrated International Women’s Day.
Mr Okapnachi stated that “gender equity is crucial to meeting development goals, reducing human suffering, and solving our biggest environmental problems.
He said for a society to make progress, it must challenge preconceived notions about women.
Mr Okapnachi said the Development Bank of Nigeria was at the forefront of women’s empowerment and encouraged every segment of society to give women a chance to excel.
