University of Liverpool Alumni hail education quality of Alma Mater

The Alumni of the University of Liverpool has extolled the quality of education received at their Alma Mater during the reunion of the South West Zone of the institution in Lagos.

Some of the Alumni who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in separate interviews on the sidelines of the reunion said that the University had positioned them for success in their chosen careers.

Mr Samuel Kolawole, Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer(CEO), University Press PLC, said the University would be remembered for its discipline and standard of education.

“We are proud to associate ourselves with the University of Liverpool,” Kolawole said.

The CEO said that COVID- 19 Pandemic had made it impossible for the Alumni to gather for some time.

He said that the reunion was a good time to know each other and network among members of the Alumni.

Kolawole, who bagged an award for being the highest donor to the Alumni, said that he had always been driven by the interest in the welfare of others.

” You give not by the volume of what you have, but by the size of the spirit of giving that is in you.

“It is important that we help each other.

” It is a big privilege to be honoured today as the highest donor for the South West Zone,” Kolawole said.

He noted that as a Rotarian, and by virtue of his humble background, he had always taken interest in the welfare of others.

Also speaking, Mrs Joy Duncan, An Attorney by training, said that the University of Liverpool had impacted positively on her and her chosen carrier

” By virtue of the resource pool of knowledge that I have been able to draw from there, I have been able to do much more, particularly in business and being able to manage people,” Duncan said.

Co-founder, OmniBlu Aviation, Duncan said that the Alumni had been intervening in programmes to help the less privileged.

Also, Faith Osiobe, Global Alumni Head for the University of Liverpool and the Nigerian coordinator said that the university would be remembered for its education and style.

Osiobe said that the school gives a bond of friendship and networking that is second to none.

” We get engaged in a lot of things and the power of networking.

“Your Network is your net worth,” Osiobe said.

She said that the Alumni was mindful of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR),

” We donated PPE items to different hospitals during the peak of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

” We have also reached out to some schools, ” Osiobe said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the reunion was a gathering of all Alumni of the University in the South West Zone for the purpose of networking and bonding with one another. (NAN)
