Total Energies Marketing partners NCF on tree planting

Total Energies Marketing Nigeria PLC partnered with the Nigeria Conservation Foundation (NCF) to clean up Falomo Senior High School Ikoyi, and plant trees at the school premises for environmental sustainability.

Speaking at the event, Mrs Chinwe Ifechiga, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager, Total Energies Marketing Nigeria PlC, said that Total Energy Group worldwide had the vision of zero net emission to reduce the impact of its activities in the environment.

Ifechiga said that Total Energy was leveraging the network of its over 500 service stations Nationwide to penetrate its host communities on environmental sustainability.

According to her, it is important to focus on the younger generation as change agents in the spread of the message of environmental sustainability.

“The essence for us is to contribute our quota to mitigating the effects of climate change.

“We have also taught the kids how to plant trees,” Ifechiga said.

She expressed delight in partnering with the Lagos State Government on environmental sustainability and the NCF.

Also, Mrs Bidemi Balogun, Environmental Education, NCF, said that NCF was delighted in partnering with Total Energy Marketing Zero-emission initiatives geared towards the reduction of the effects of climate change.

Balogun noted that NCF has played a critical role in spreading the message of environmental sustainability across the country.

One of the participants, Miss Deborah Olawoore, a Senior Secondary School student of the school expressed appreciation to Mobil Energy Marketing and NCF for teaching them waste management and tree planting

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that volunteers from Total Energy Marketing joined the students of the school in the cleanup exercise.

The highlight of the exercise was the planting of five trees in the school compound. (NAN)
