500 youths get trade test certificates in Anambra

As part of activities to commemorate this year’s World Youth Skills Day, the Anambra State Government has presented Grade two and Grade three Trade Test certificates to 500 graduands from its various skill acquisition programmes for youths.

Presenting the certificates to the skill acquisition graduands in Awka, the State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, said if, given the desired skills, youths of the State have the potential of being at par with China, Japan and other developing nations.

The Governor who was represented by the State Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, Prof. Theresa Nkechi Obiekezie, called on good spirited individuals and companies to assist the government in its continuous training and retraining of youths for their economic sustainability.

“These certificates will enable the trained youths to gain employment both in private companies and government offices around the world.

”As you collect your certificates, be sure to continue to practice the skills for which you were trained.

“Let me also assure you of the government’s continuous commitment to providing a suitable atmosphere for youths to maximize their potentials of self-actualization and self-employment,” he said.

While describing youths of the State as enterprising, he observed that the theme for this year’s celebration, “Reimagining Youth Skills, Post Pandemic”, aimed at extolling the resilience and creativity of youths throughout the COVID-19 crisis.
