TCN MD bags honorary doctorate from European American University

The Acting Managing Director of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Mr Sule Abdulaziz has been awarded the prestigious Honorary Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in Engineering and Project Management.

The degree was awarded by the European American University, Commonwealth of Dominica. Ms Ndidi Mbah, general manager of public affairs for TCN, said this in a statement in Abuja on Sunday.

Mbah said the award went to Abdulaziz, who is also the chairman of the board of directors of the West African Power Pool (WAAP) on July 8 in Abuja. The President of European America University, Professor John Kersey was represented by Dr Luke Okojie, an international partner of the university at the graduation ceremony.

Kersey noted that Abdulaziz was honoured for the prestigious award for his exemplary contributions to the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) and his role in WAPP.

The TCN boss dedicated the award to the company’s management and staff, noting that his contributions to NESI were made possible by his career at TCN.

“And the collective support of all TCN staff,” he said. He appreciated the support shown by the European American University. He also gave assurances that he would be more diligent in pursuing a more efficient and robust transportation network. (NAN)
