Request for daily stock record is statutory requirement — DPR

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) says that requesting a daily stock of supplied products is a legal regulatory requirement for any retail outlet licensee, at no cost to traders.

The department revealed this in a statement signed by the head of public affairs, Mr Paul Osu, in Abuja on Sunday.

He said the request allows the DPR to provide accurate data on the consumption of petroleum products for the country.

“Our attention was drawn to a misunderstanding regarding the request for daily inventory records by the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR.

“This development follows an online post about DPR extortion allegations by the Independent Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Suleja/Abuja branch on demand for the stock.

“We want to state for records that the daily stock demand of supplied products is a legal regulatory requirement for any retail outlet licensee, which allows DPR to provide accurate product consumption data. tankers for the country.

“This regulatory oversight is free for retail outlets,” he said.

He added that the provision of the daily inventory report, which was also applicable to petroleum product depots, also enabled DPR to provide an investment guide to investors in line with its role as a business facilitator and house of business. opportunities for the oil and gas industry.
