Kano partners private firm on $162m first agro-industrial park –official

The Kano state government has approved the establishment of the state’s first $ 162 million private agro-industrial park, says chief press secretary Abba Anwar of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

In a statement on Monday, Anwar said the facility, partnered with Silvex Int’l Ltd., would be located in the Kano River Irrigation Project area, in the Bunkure local government area, in the state.

He said that the managing director (CEO) of the partner company, Alhaji Abubakar Usman-Adamu, had already presented the investment documents to the state governor, with the first phase of the project estimated at $ 12 million, due for completion in the next six months.

“The project will be supported by the British Foreign and Common Wealth Development Office (FCDO / UKAid) as part of its links project,” he said.

Anwar quoted Usman-Adamu as saying that the project was designed to serve as a geographic group of independent companies. “The objective of the project is to enhance the development of systematic agricultural value chains in various commodities in Nigeria and beyond.

“This will help attract more investment, create jobs, improve rural incomes and livelihoods, as well as increase the income generated internally by the state government,” he said. -he declares.

The CEO of the company assured the governor that the project will play a leading role in stabilizing the prices of essential commodities and market development, in addition to promoting agricultural mechanization and technology transfer from foreign investors in the country.

Anwar said the state government has requested the Kano Investment Promotion Agency (KANIVET) and other relevant state agencies to expedite the full completion of the project. (NAN)
