Zenith Bank Plc has announced the death of one of its directors, Prof. Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe.
According to a regulatory filing by the lender to the Nigerian Stock Exchange, the late professor joined the bank in 2016 as an independent non-executive director.
The statement read in part, “He was a distinguished scholar and professor of systems engineering, past vice-chancellor of the University of Lagos and a seasoned public administrator.
“The late Professor Obe joined the board of the bank on February 24, 2016 as an independent non-executive director and has served in various committees of the board where he creditably acquitted himself, bringing a lot of positive insights to board deliberations.”
The lender expressed their condolences and prayed that God grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss. It also noted all other announcements would be as directed by the family.
