The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has said that the federal government will be deploying a special mission aircraft to Benin, to boost security of the nation’s maritime environment.
Air Marshal Abubakar disclosed this on Saturday in Benin shortly after an on-the-spot inspection of facilities at the Benin Unit 107 of the Nigerian Airforce.
He said, “the deployment will add value to the security arrangement of the nation’s maritime environment”.
He noted that the special aircraft was important given the important role the maritime environment plays in the nation’s economy.
According to him, the visit was to assess what was on ground at the unit in terms of infrastructure and as well as challenges the unit might be facing.
